Derek L. Hansen, PhD
Associate Professor and Program Chair of Information Technology and Cybersecurity. He teaches about human-computer interaction, social media analytics, cybersecurity, and web development. Dr. Hansen has overseen development of three PCSs and two alternate reality games (with University of Maryland collaborators) funded by NSF. He will serve as the BYU PI and lead iSchool contact, where was a faculty member, and be responsible for all PCS technology.
Dr. Hansen finds the blend of technology and narratives fascinating and loves designing learning experiences that give students a feel for the exciting things they can do in their career.
