Careers in Play is a three-year development project by three collaborating institutions, University of Maryland (UMD), Brigham Young University (BYU) and Indiana University (IU), to develop curricular modules, formative assessments, innovative technology and learning analytics to be inserted into undergraduate courses.
The project has two research sites, lead institution UMD and principal partner BYU, that together have contrasting diversity in their student populations to support the design-based research goals. Joined by IU that provides assessments and acumen with situated research practices and a world-renowned external evaluator, this project will demonstrate how, by engaging with relevant technologies, undergraduate students can build awareness and intent to pursue careers in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) through role-based collaborative problem solving.
